7TSIX confirms GT World Challenge Europe entry as team continues with bold race plans

Yorkshire-based GT3 team, 7TSIX, will embark on its biggest challenge to date during 2023. Having only debuted last season, the team will build on an impressive 24-hour event at the turn of the year with a confirmed entry into the upcoming Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS with the McLaren 720S GT3 Evo.

Entering only the second year of competition, the team has already successfully campaigned across several championships with the McLaren during a busy debut season. This included a top-4 finish in the Intelligent Money British GT championship, podium finishes in Monza during a busy International GT Open weekend, and a win on debut in the British Endurance Championship. Since then, the team put on an impressive display at the Dubai 24 Hours to claim the final podium position in the Am class.

The 2023 season sees the team take the step up to the GT World Challenge Europe, widely considered the most competitive GT3 championship. The calendar visits some of Europe’s most famous and iconic circuits, with the five Endurance events starting in Monza.  From here, Circuit Paul Ricard at the start of June previews the season highlight at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. The closing two rounds head to the Nürburgring before Barcelona.

“It has been a really exciting journey so far for 7TSIX, and we are only one year in with plenty more to come. We used the first season to gain important and varied experience across different championships in the first year, and using every event to move forward. I think we have surprised a few people with our performances so far, and we are looking to keep that going into 2023. GT World Challenge Europe is one of the most exciting and demanding championships in GT3 competition, and I am excited for the team and our potential with the confirmation of our entry.

“We are currently reviewing the options to put together the most competitive line-up for the season, deciding which class we will challenge for and open to talking to other drivers. The one thing we are sure of is that we will not be here to simply make up the numbers. You only really see how you compare to the best, when you race directly against them, and we will be looking to fight at the front,”

Joe Edge, 7TSIX team owner

7TSIX will continue preparations for the new season, but will not take part in the season test days due to conflicting activities. More details of the driver line-up and class entry will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
